Baking Tips
Your guide to the perfect cookie experience.
1. Always preheat your oven.
2. Space those cookies out! We recommend a max of 9 cookies on a standard baking sheet (3 rows of 3).
3. Home oven temperatures vary greatly, so we recommend trying out a tester cookie to make sure the time is right for your oven. If your cookies come out flat and undercooked, your oven is most likely below the recommended temperature.
4. Invest in an oven thermometer! They're inexpensive and are a simple way to ensure great results when using your oven.
5. Never put your dough on a baking pan that's hot- they'll be more likely to burn on the bottoms.
6. Let your cookies sit on the baking pan for about 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack. They take a few minutes to set, especially ones that have chocolate and oat bases. If you touch a cookie right out of the oven, it will always feel soft and mushy and seem undercooked. The exterior will crisp as they cool!
7. When in doubt, always undercook. Your cookies will continue to bake after you take them out. You can always put them back in for a few minutes if they're not to your liking.
8. Have leftovers? Warm them up in your oven at 300 for 5 minutes (although fresh is always best!).
Baking Times
Please follow the baking instructions below for cookie perfection!
All of our cookies should be baked straight from freezer on a baking pan with parchment paper or silicone liner. These are all approximations as oven temperatures vary, so please keep an eye on your cookies. In general, the best indicator of a finished cookie is that it's lightly browned around the edges and doesn't look wet on top.
*Cool time is our subjective opinion of how long the cookie should cool for cookie perfection (the ideal balance of taste, texture and temperature for that particular cookie).
